PB4L

Our school is a PB4L (Positive Behaviour 4 Learning) school – this means that children are explicitly taught the models of behaviour we expect in a positive way that encourages our children to be the best that they can be.

Our expectations are simple.  All children are expected to ..

Haumaru Be safe
WhakaeteBe responsible
ManaakiBe respectful

If children are not displaying our values, they are retaught instantly in a positive manner giving the students the chance to change the behaviour that is not suitable.  If children are still unable / unwilling to follow behaviour expectations, teachers will write an incident report, which is followed by a consequence.

The behaviour is determined Major or Minor by the a co-constructed matrix, and consequences will be in keeping with appropriate restorative actions to support the child and the teacher in creating a safe, respectful, responsible school climate.
Parents will be notified of major incidents The report and consequence will be discussed with the PB4L team, which meet fortnightly.  The team consists of Teressa Watts (Team leader), Emma Sweeney (Coach), Kay Kendall (DP), Cris Hull (Principal), Lisa Snook, Kylie Littlefair.
